✔️Weekly yoga complete!

This is a 15 Minute Standing Yoga Flow from @yogawithuliana’s YouTube channel…

Standing yoga might look easy, but it’s a lot more challenging than you think!

It looks like I’m doing a funky dance when you time lapse standing Yoga!

This is the first time I’ve done yoga in over a month.

For 2 months straight I did standing yoga, and then stopped when it took a toll on my knees, but I’d like to get back into it again. This time I’d scale back and do it once a week I think.

I’m constantly making adjustments during this #weightlossjourney, always trying to find what works.

I tend to be an all-or-nothing type person, so moderation is something I’ve been trying to work on…

No, I’m not doing a funky dance, this is me following along with an @ashleymfreeman Standing Yoga Vinyasa Flow video from YouTube…

And, as always, my cat coming in to ham it up for the camera!

After doing standing yoga for two months straight, I took a little break for the sake of my knees.

Today I did a 30 minute Yoga for Beginners video from @yoga_with_kassandra on YouTube.

As usual, my cat joined in because she’s such a ham for the camera 😻

I definitely want to start doing a regular practice again a few days a week because of how strong and empowered it makes me feel…

After my 57th day in a row of standing yoga, I’m wondering if maybe I should take a break from it.

At first, I loved it so much and couldn’t imagine not doing it every day. Now, my knees are bothering me from all the warrior poses and I just don’t feel the joy anymore.

Maybe I’m just having a bad day and will change my mind and keep at it past the 60 day mark…

After doing 50 days of standing yoga, I finally decided to try a “regular” yoga video to see if I could do it.

And I DID IT!

From beginning to end, I completed the whole practice (a beginner video by @yoga_with_kassandra) and I did even better than I thought I would.

I was even able to do downward dog and pedal my feet!

Afterwards I feel revived, rejuvenated and energized...basically ready to take on the world because I completed something I didn’t think that I could.

I’ve been working out so hard these past few weeks and I’m thrilled to see the results of all that time and effort.

60 Day Yoga Challenge

I’ve decided to continue with the standing yoga and do a 60 day yoga challenge because I enjoy doing it so much every day!

I really like how many variations/modifications there are in the standing yoga I’ve been doing every day.

For a beginner like me, it’s nice to be able to bend my knees while touching the floor without feeling like I’m doing the pose wrong because I can’t straighten them (yet!)

Eventually I’ll be able to do more, be more flexible, have more balance, but for now I’m doing the best this still out-of-shape body can do.

I’m not even feeling frustrated by my limitations because at least I’m trying.

I like the challenge of it and I like knowing there are still more advanced poses to work up to.

I’m still wobbly and shaky in my balance, but I already noticed how far I’ve come in the last month.

Imagine all the things I’ll be able to do if I keep moving forward and don’t give up...

I just might turn this 30-day standing yoga challenge into 60 days I like it so much!

After 35 days, it’s become a part of my daily routine like brushing my teeth and I honestly can’t imagine not doing it.

It still challenges me and I still look forward to doing it day after day.

I think I created a healthy habit, you guys!

30-day Standing Yoga Challenge

I’m three weeks into my 30 day yoga challenge and I’m absolutely loving it!

Now that I’ve gotten into the routine of doing it every day, I can’t imagine ever NOT doing it!

My favorite YouTube video right now is @yogawithbird’s 15 Minute Yoga for Strength and I definitely feel like I’m getting stronger.

Standing yoga is more challenging than I first thought it would be and my legs shake when I do the balancing poses, but it feels so good to notice how much progress I’m making from day one.

Someday I’ll work my way down to the floor, but for now I’m happiest in Warrior 2...

(My cat just couldn’t stand the thought of being left out of the video, so she joined in 😽)

Chapter 3: 30 Day Yoga Challenge

Almost two weeks ago, I began my first day of a 30 day yoga challenge. I'm doing standing yoga for now, to gradually ease myself into the practice, and because all those cat/cow poses are murder on my wrists.

In the past, I've completed a month of riding the stationary bike and 30 days of marching in place/indoor walking videos, so I'm not a complete newbie to the challenge concept.

Yoga is something I hope to continue doing long after the thirty days is done because I know it would be a healthy habit to integrate into my daily routine.

What I’m liking best about yoga is how I’m reminded to BREATHE.

So often during the day I find myself holding my breath and it’s nice to take a few moments out of my day to focus on inhaling and exhaling.

I’m enjoying standing yoga videos from @yogawithbird and @ashleymfreeman.

After completing my second day of yoga, I’m feeling pretty good about it.

I’m starting with standing yoga for now because my wrists aren’t ready for the real thing yet. Maybe after losing some weight I’ll be more agile getting up and down from the floor.

The standing yoga flow is no joke! There’s a lot of stretching and some balance work and my legs were shaking while holding a deep lunge.

I look forward to getting stronger and being able to rock a workout without faltering...
